    As much as Arizona would like to have Matthews, the price to acquire him would set the Coyotes so far back I don't know if they would survive.

    Agree If Strome not in the package the leafs will state it's a non starter. Domi would be my choice due to he brings something to the team we don't have a lot of Skill packaged with grit which will need to complete. If they gave us 7th and next year's 1st I could see the leafs accepting that seeing they already have 12 picks this year.

    History dictates this will never happen. When is the last time the #1 overall pick was ever traded, and further - when there has been this much hype surrounding aforementioned #1 pick?

    haha...when Brian Burke was in town, the leafs were habiltually trading up for the #1 pick each year. Obviously with Matthews being a local kid and the yotes wanting a franchise player to sell hockey...chatter is up. There's quiet rumors out there that Arizona ownership wants to bring in Matthews at pretty much any cost and Maloney wasn't willing to play along...so they showed him the door and brought in a 26yr old to 'do what he's told'.
