I love this trade for Pens if the pick was def a 1st rdr.
But im also perplexed bc this trade benefits the Pens future and not the now with Hayton. But i think the kid could be very good.

Well they need to think about their future. Kessel is getting traded this year, but if Malkin or Letang go as well, then it's all about their future. Hayton would be an awesome fit down the road.

I think it’s way too much for Kessel.
I mean Hayton was 5th OV last year and just had a terrific season. Him, a second and a bottom six roster player should be enough, but to make the 2nd a 1st and throw a great developing young player in Crouse (another former 1st rd pick) is too much IMO

There's a good chance that he'll play in Arizona, he has ties with Tocchet, Arizona has the cap to pay him. But it will cost Arizona and other teams as well. Pens would want Hayton, Crouse or Fischer.

If you think that Hayton is A. A fair price to pay for a 31 y/o winger or B. That Chayka will trade him one season removed from drafting him at 5th overall because he "fell in love with his game" then you're out of your mind lmao

Hey these are the 3 players the Pens are looking at; Hayton (no brainer), Crouse and Fischer and a pick. So keep Hayton and do Crouse and Fischer and the 1st pick next year.

Hayton= Off limits. Probably the best prospect that the Coyotes have had in their system in a long time
Fischer= He's young still and can develop into a very good power forward especially in Pittsburgh's system
Crouse= I'd say that there is a 95% chance that Crouse is on the Coyotes next year. They are very high on him and would have to be absolutely blown away by a trade offer for him.

Penguins don't have a ton of negotiation room here. Kessel has been a problem in the dressing room, and he has a NTC so they can't deal him to wherever they want. Coyotes best offer will probably be some combo of Fischer, POJ, 2019 or 2020 first round pick.

Pens are in win now. I think they would rather have Dvorak and Crouse instead. Plus I doubt Arizona would trade Hayton.
