I don't see Flyers giving Proporov up, ever for two quality picks. Judging by the way he is developing, he has the talent and potential to be the next Weber.

Matthews deal gives up too many picks, just loopsided.

Hey Palhal, imo remove all the 2nd rounders except for the 37th. Would love to see provorov beside Zaitsev. Good post.

so the Leafs go from having the 1st overall pick to only having the 30th overall in the first round? This is not going to happen, like the idea of getting Provorov and all but not like this

What you are offering for Matthews is value but the leafs will need to win the trade not just on the day but a decade from now or this will go down as the reason our rebuild failed rather than the day we built a champion. For that to occur Domi and the 20th overall will need to be in the trade.

The trade would in effect be Matthews for Strome and Provorov for almost immediate help, (well maybe next year) and four second rounders. IMO, the Leafs aren't trading the pick, but I wasn't some happy with of other Matthews trades.
Who knows....Strome for Matthews might be about equal (we'll see in 15 years). I thought the trades helped the Leafs, now and in the future.

I have no problem with you trading for provorov I was talking bout the trade down and getting Domi included as well as the 20th overall. If lou can flip the 7th to Philly for Provorov that would be fine with me.

No that is not what is happening here. They are also getting Provorov, a very high end D prospect who was only drafted last year....

PHI wouldn't do the deal. I think the ARI deal is close.

If I am philly I have no reason to move Provorov unless it is for a similar age/talented F prospect or an NHL ready high end F. Hard to imagine them trading their draft+1 year stud D prospect picked 7th overall AND a 2nd for 7th overall this year. Just doesn't make much sense for them.
