Supposedly CBJ is in win now and is willing to move the 3rd pick for centre help right now. Can the Flames get away without moving their 6th overall as well? Backlund + 2nd for JP?? Thoughts?

      Sam Bennett or Sean Monahan might get you the 3rd overall, not a third line centre like Backlund. Andersen is a # 1 goalie, if he's traded the Ducks want immediate help.

      I agree that I do not see the Jackets accepting this deal BUT to offer much more would be ridiculous as the difference in level of player from 3 to 6 is not that great this year... It's not like Calgary is trading up for a McDavid or franchise player... Backlund plus our first is as high as I would go and that's only due to the fact that we will not be able to protect Backs from an expansion draft as we probably wont be able to afford to resign him in 18-19.
