He won't get that, they will go 9.5x6. If they go 8 they would have to start to pay up more but I dont think you will see 8 years extensions bc of the unknown of how contracts will be effected extending into a new CBA which isnt in place yet

There is 0 reason for Sheahan, when you. have Kamenev, Compher, Kerfoot, Jost, and Soderberg on the roster next season and Bowers in the minors, lots of depth C options. No reason go with McElhinney when they have Francouz who they plan on resining.

he isnt going to play 3rd/4th fiddle on the Avs, hes still a top player in this league and he needs his own Team to be the guy on. Love Dutch, one of my favourite all time Avs but its time to move on, maybe in his last year sin the league, he comes back for a retirement tour.

If they do go C in UFA, its going to be Hayes or call me crazy I think they look at Wennberg in Columbus, they love their CBJ connection and if anyone can get him going its Bednar. I feel like that might be a sneaky cap dump style trade by the Jackets that the Avs will be all over if they making room to keep Duchene and Panarin.

I think its agreed that the Avs need to add a quality younger top 6 forward to this lineup.
Some that come to mind would be either Skinner/Panarin/Ferland/Nyquist/Lee on the wing or a Hayes at C.

I agree. Panarin would be the ideal target but then the cap becomes a little more tough to fit. Probably have to find someone to take on Soderbergs last year.
But if they do a combo of lesser moves, like I mentioned taking on Wennberg to be 3C and then you add a guy like Ferland in the Top 6. You can realistically do a line up of:

Landy Mack Kerfoot
Ferland Jost Rants
X Wennberg Compher
Kamanev with a combo of Nieto/Calvert/Greer

X can be Nieto, Calvert, Kaut, who knows maybe the 4th overall makes an impact and makes the team.
