Preds sign 2 UFA: Duchene(always rumoured), Boyle (he said, he want to stay, so welcome back)
About trades:
1)Smith worth that price. He is stable 20 goal-scorer (5 of last 6 season's finished with 20 or more goals). Look at EDM score board and tell me what they needed. Smith just perfect fit. He is hard-working forward, that can score goals. And he can score much more with McDavid or Draisaitl.
2)Hall an elite forward, but it is only 1 year remaining on his current contract, and who knows....Is he want to stay in NJ and w8, while they are collected perfect roster to win SC, or he wants fight right now? NSH can give him this opportunity.
What about price: PK one of the best RHD in NHL, but his contract isn't really good, and really hard to fit in real contender. But NJ have tons of cap space, they can use it and trade him with very, very good package.
NSH already give them 1st,2nd,3rd, where 2nd have good potential to become 1st. Also Trenin looks like solid prospect (2nd round pick), i think he will progressing more and more, and in the future he can be very solid bottom 6 forward.
3)Turris return home. Granlund brothers playing together. Jarnkrok enjoy Vancouver-Sweden family.
Tanev find his place in T4, if someone got injured.
In my mind it is perfect trade for both sides.
_________
After that 3rd trade, Granlund sign new 6×6,25 contract with Preds and play with his brother.
_________
Next years Preds core looks like: Joha, Arvi, Forsberg, Hall, Duchene, Tolvanen, Granlund(×2), Sissons, Grimaldi, Watson (i think after all his adventures, he will stay with NSH forever with very friendly deal).+ Josi,Ellis,Ekholm,Fabbro.
Pretty solid.
A point every two games for 6 million per for 6 years, how is there any value in turris, undersized not overly fast, just a guy Vancouver is screaming for
I don't think EDM would pay this much for Smith's 30-year-old season.
Oh cmon. NSH paid for Boyle(34 y.o. ) their 2nd round pick, it wasn't trade deadline deal, but, yes, so close to it.
Look at his stats, look at Smith stats. And once again it is stable 20+ goals forward. Only 3550 to pay.
But, if EDM want to stay out of playoffs one more year, so yeah, save this 2nd and 4th round picks will be much better. Smith absolutely worth that 2nd round pick.(Also look at Wilson trade. AVS paid 3rd round pick, but Smith better than Willson.)
You definitely have the right idea with the PK trade. NSH will only trade him to get a player back that makes the team demonstrably better, which Hall absolutely does.
As someone else mentioned, Josi's extension will be difficult but conceivably other moves could be made to clear up relevant cap room (Ellis, Bonino, etc) so it isn't a non-starter.

Yes, exactly. Remember that Seattle is coming. They will give Preds additional cap space.

It is 1 terrible season. 2 injuries, tons of unluck, he started the season pretty well. But after first 25+/-5 games all Preds just fall down with injuries. It was really unlucky season for organisation.
Here we can remove that 3rd, and Tenev's($890,000 retained) and replace Turris by Bonino. Very solid 3rd line center. Much better?)
But i think Turris will comeback to his real condition. Here it is fresh start and chance to play close to home.

Sure Turris might come back. But the risk factor is huge due to the size and length his contract, don't expect someone to pay full (past) value for a possibility of a comeback.

Career high for turris is 64 points in a season, not sure if 6 million should buy you anymore I guess, but 6 more years gets him to 35, not sure on the value there, and Bonino is a warrior but his best hockey is behind them and a cap dump also at this point, either way both can be had in free agency or from within without losing anyone
