NJD says no to that deal.
Also Pavelski, at 35 making 8 mil, is bad news. Use that money and go get a Skinner or Panarin

Yes but another could make it crazy elite and not have to break the bank on Barrie

Panarin wont sign in denver, but Pavelski plays the right way on all 200ft of the ice, as the sjs coach said they miss him in their lineup for everything

You have to spread the wealth... so in 2 years your defense doesnt cost what Toronto's forwards will cost

I disagree. Why would Panarin not want to come to a good young team trending upwards with MacKinnon as his centerman?? lol
You missed the point about Pavelski; you will regret paying him that money at that age; hes bound to decline mid contract (making friggen 8 mil):
35-8 mil
36-8 mil
37- 8 mil
38- 8 mil

Panarin: because he wants to model in New York

Pavelski: may or may not decline when he turns 36/37 but for next year he can still help them win a cup

We dont need 1 good year of Pavelski at 8 mil and 3 average/meh years of Pavelski at 8 mil.

Sorry wrong quote, thread starter figured he would be spending to much on the blueline if they draft Byram over turcotte and my answer was the 100 million on two forwards

Oh did the rules change do pavelski and rantanen have to take their entire salary against the cap in the first year?

You act like pavelski for 4 years is worse than bringing in Panera in for 10 million a year for 7 years

Look at year 4 or possibility of a buyout or bury on pavelski, by the same token if turcotte is up for a contract, right about then. Don’t get me wrong I don’t hate your build just your allotment of money to aging forwards over a elite blueline.

a 27-year old who's put up a point a game his whole career for 10 mil for 7 years is absolutely better than a 34-year old who's a worse offensive player (better defensive for sure) who btw is also already the captain for his old team and is way less likely to leave.
