If Duclair is your top line winger, then the Oilers are in trouble. I like the kid, but he's a 3rd liner no more. Great Florida trade for both teams.

That Florida trade is brutal for Edmonton, Klefbom is signed for 4 more seasons but Hoffman would be a free agent after next season and a 3rd doesn't make up for that difference. The Oilers need a top 6 winger but not at the expense of one of their best value contracts/players.

Klefbom and a 2nd+ for Huberdeau sure but for a soon to be UFA who's likely to not resign with Edmonton would be just another bad trade by the Oilers in a long list of bad trades by Oilers management.

100% underrated. I've got my eye on him for some time now. And it's not like the Oilers' D-pipeline is overflowing.

I don't see Vancouver selling low on Sutter, but this is a better offer for than I usually see here on CF

True but if the Oilers want to improve this offseason through a trade defense is more of a strength for them then forward is (yes I know this sounds crazy..lol), lots of solid D prospects in Edmonton (Bouchard, Jones, Bear, Samorukov) that maybe make one of Nurse or Klefbom a valuable trade chip. The free agent wingers this summer that might sign in Edmonton don't impress me much and really is it wise for Edmonton to overpay one of Dzingel, Eberle, Ferland? I don't think it is so a trade for a winger on a good value contract makes sense imo, just my .02$ though.

I totally agree but that being said I'm trading nurse over klefbom every day of the week Haha I just think we use a d prospect an our picks for a good long term player

Idk, which D prospect and which pick though?
And who's gonna give up a good winger who's already on a long term deal for that package?

He's pretty injury prone and might be a bit pricey for a 3C given how much more top 6 players are making now, you don't think just taking the pick and the cap relief would be worth it?
If I was the Nucks GM I think I'd be happy to just move him for whatever to make sure I had space to sign the other kids who will be due raises in a couple seasons.
I know the Canucks have a lot of space this summer but they gotta make sure they have space for when Petterson and whoever else is due a hefty raise in a couple years.

With MC and Leon and the top line give them a kid with a bit of skill and grit and that's all that line needs to be one of the best in the league. You can't afford to spend much over 20 mil on 1 line and think you have enough for secondary scoring.

It's really a pick between the 2, Nurse or Klefbom. I tend to think keeping Nurse over Klefbom. Edmonton actually has some decent blueliners looking to break in to the NHL so their "strength" is moving one of those 2 d guys to get you the secondary. Of course you want a good winger on a long term deal and maybeeeee you can get Hub from Florida, and if you can by all means make that trade, but I just don't think the rest of league values Klefbom as high as within the Oilers organization and teams arn't jumping to move a good forward on a long term deal.

I agree with you, but don't think Benning would do it
