Description

Marner 1yr contract is because limitation to construct overall contract. The idea is first year 6M bonus +1 salary and then 7yrs 10M-11M whatever it takes. A reverse type from Nylander's contract, if Marner doesn't agree leafs might have to trade Kadri and see who you place at Centre..
Sandin might come up mid season but Liljegren has to improve a lot to come up and RD is what we really need.
When Hyman join team will get back to JT/Marner line and someone sent down. I placed Moore in his place cause I think he plays closer style as Hyman than anybody else on the roster.
Johnsson to arbitration for 1yr deal and talk again in January for an extension, might lose him but there is no cap for everybody.

And why exactly are we giving colorado a free 4 round pick jump?
Put Horton and Hyman on LTIR to start the season, trade brown to EDM for a 3rd, sign Kapanen and Johnsson to a bridge deal (2@~2.75 and 4@~3.25 respectively), give the rest to Marner and roll with a 22 man roster so we have just enough cap space banked up to activate Hyman when he gets back in early December.

It's nonsensical to do this bonus for Marner.....It's still a 7m cap hit. And there are limits on what the front bonus can be. There is no such thing as signing a second contract. Why would the Leaf trade Horton and why would any team want him and his 5.3m cash payout?

because LTIR contract still count towards the cap on first day of season that's why you trade Horton's contract, and a team would want it because is only 1 yr and you get a higher draft pick in return.

Marner deal I can't do it with the website tools, the deal is an 8yr deal with lower cap on first year but high signing bonus, then increasing cap hit on following years, the reverse as what was done with Nylander.

Brown is not worth a 3rd pick and you know it, but whatever you get, the main purpose is to take out his cap hit to spend it on Kapanen.
