Why does Anaheim want a rental? They want a top ten pick, not a rental

That top 10 pick won't play for 1 or 2 years. I think if they want one last crack at the playoffs with Getzlaf & Perry, this is a plausible trade.

No it really isnt. Everyone on the team knows their current window is done especially with Kesler and Perry both declining hard. Even Getzlaf took a major decline in production

I don’t think it’s plausible. I don’t think it’s close. Anaheim was trash this year and they’ll be just as bad. They want to shed salary and get picks...like literally every other aging horrible rebuilding team.

An 8th overall pick for Kreider doesn’t make sense for anyone, let alone a rebuilder

I think the trade never happens, but ANA also had an insane amount of man games lost to injury last year. I don't think it'll be as high as it was and I think they make the playoffs next year.

Seriously? Put a bet on that, you’ll get some crazy odds

Am I that outside the box on that one? They lost Montour sure, but they have a lot of good young kids coming up. The division is weaker next year. IF they don't have nearly as many injuries, they're a good three zone team.

This is very dependent on the new coach as well.

That's the most absurd trade I've ever seen suggested for the Ducks. They wouldn't trade back from #9 to wherever Winnipeg's first is going to be for Kreider, let alone a third!!

When we agree on things we completely agree on them.

Want Caufield? Chytil or Andersson and the Winnipeg 1st or Kravtsov and your 2nd.

Logically speaking I just can’t see a case being made for it. Cheers. Your deals are definitely more towards what it would take. I think you could argue that the 8th overall pick is more of a core asset than all but 2 or 3 of their players

I may have undervalued that #9 pick. However: Anaheim will be better next year. They'll be healthier and they'll have a head coach.
Kravtsov went at #9 last year and was a steal. To say he (and a 2nd) is worth this year's #9 is as outrageous as my initial proposal, apparently.
Finally, I think Kreider is more valuable than you give him credit for. Alone, he could probably fetch a #14-16 pick (right? you guys agree on that?). So what is the cost of moving from #15 to #9? Maybe #37 + Pionk?
