Description
I don't know what the price would be for the NYR pick but with McAvoy being a New York native it could be something that gets the Rangers to even talk about trading the pick on draft day. They lock up their top pair defense for the future with Skjei and McAvoy.

I've seen a lot of Krug to the isle for their first so I basically went along with that idea. Go out and get Karlsson to replace Krug's offense. Maybe the pick from the Krug trade would have to be included in the trade for the #2 overall?

The defense imo is weaker but they get a top 6 RW for Krejci who should be ready to play in the NHL now and they dont kill themselves long term with the Karlsson contract.

The biggest risk of all of this is starting two rookie dmen on the left side but I think they are both ready to make the jump. Grizz hops to the right as he's showed that he has the ability to play that side. Or you let Urho/Lauzon fight for the #3 LHD spot, use Grizz as #2 LHD and Clifton as #3 RHD. There are a few option to figure out the bottom two pairings on D.

It's been a while since I've posted anything and this is sort of my idea of something that should happen if we dont get out of the first round.

NYR would pass. Franchise level players dont come along very often and Kakko fits right into nyr time frame since they wont be doing much for the next year or 2. Certainly a good offer but not enough for nyr to take.

you are not providing and information on to why you disagree with someone and that's alright that also shows the hockey IQ and rationality behind your points.

Everything.
Trading Mcavoy. Just a non starter. He’s the franchise.
Signing Karlsson. On the decline.
And of course, the obligatory signing of Carlo for 4 years bringing him directly to ufa without buying out any ufa years...which, of course, has never happened in the cap era for any team, or any player.

What is the context? The trade? nyr pass mcavoy is an elite player but finding a franchise level is much harder and nyr would rather take kakko considering mcavoys injury history as well.

Chara isn't a first pairing defenseman anymore. I don't know why boston fans keep acting like he is. Are you even watching the games. He's getting blown by like he's not even there consistently.
I said when he signed that extension it was a waste and way to expensive. I stand by it. He's way to slow now. You can roll him out for the PK and then right to the bench.

All toronto is doing is attacking him with speed when they see him on the ice. And almost every time they are winning that battle. They go right past him and the puck is pinned in the Boston zone. They go past him on fast breaks.

He's got no business on the ice anymore. None.

I always screw up the Carlo extension you know that lol. McAvoy hasnt done much for me to think he can be what we all thought he could be. Still young yes and shows signs of brilliance but Im almost starting to think he might not be a player that we want to invest a lot of money in long term. The inconsistency is what bothers me. But I get your point, RHD's with his potential dont come along often but just my take on everything. Karlsson wouldnt say on the decline. Still averaged just under a point a game and replaces Krugs production. Similar age (Karlsson one years older) and Karlsson is a better overall defenseman. Kappo would lock up our top 6 for years to come, especially with Studnicka ready to make the leap in a year. 3 good lines all with skill and scoring ability. And again long term doesn't put the Bruins in a cap crunch.

Krug or Grizz won't be a top pair D on the left side either and I dont think Urho/Lauzon would be ready to play top pair minutes so unless they go out and sign/trade for one Chara is the guy. Not saying youre wrong in your assessment but it is what it is.

Yeah, the Bruins are going to give up a franchise defenseman, 1st round pick and talented prospect for a guy who could become the next Jesse Puljujarvi lmao. Horrible idea for the Bruins, you always take the known player over a prospect.
