Trade #1- This trade was proposed by an Oilers fan the other day and I got to admit it makes sense. Russell while overpaid and won't offer much in the way of production, is still good in his own end giving Petry the ability to jump up in the rush more. Lehk would be tough to lose but a top 10 pick in this draft would be huge. EDM while dropping out of the top 10 frees up cap, gets a good young 2way winger and still has a mid first round pick. This trade obviously doesn't work if the Oilers luck out with the lottery.

Trade #2- Mtl helps Tampa out of cap trouble and gets a similar return as the Mason trade last year. Callahan only agrees to waive his NTC for a buyout. Erne would be a perfect net presence on the PP for MTL, what I think was a big piece missing this season.

This would be a team icing 4 solid lines so don't think of it as line 1,2,3 and 4. Think of it as line 1A/1B and 2A/2B, a system where no forward plays more than 17 minutes or less than 13 minutes.
