WPG trade might work but Mantha needs to be healthy

He had a hand injury from fighting. I think he's better though... scored 6 goals in the last 4 games of the year.

15-16 - broke leg out 6-8 weeks
16-17 - missed 22 games
17-18 - missed only 2 game
18-19 - missed 15 games

i dont doubt hes good, but he actually has only played 1 full injury free season

Yes Mantha missed most of December with a broken hand. After returning from injury he had 34 points including 15 points in his last 8 games giving a total 48 points 2 behind Laine and in 21 less games. Now I don't think he's better than Laine plus Laine is coming off his worst season as a pro. I'm just using it as a comparison.

A couple of weeks ago I would've said he on the market but now after going off at the end of the season I'm not so sure. Now Trouba for Mantha 1 for 1 I'd do but I wouldn't give up more for a player who is going to be a UFA at the end of next season. To tell the truth I might not want to part with Mantha for a rental when Detroit probably won't make the playoffs.

Both 16-17 and 18-19 were missed due to breaking his hand fighting. So outside of breaking his leg he has missed 2 games. Thats not injury prone.

injury is still injury. 80+ guys fight every year without injury, maybe he shouldve learned the first time?
