Description
I do not think Lindgren is an NHL goalie so Talbot could be one of many options as a backup (could be any goalie that is available in Free agent). I think Drouin is no longer in the same mindset as the team. I would not mind keeping him but if the offers are interesting I would pursue. I would like to have opinions on the Drouin trade (COL's side).

MTL
  1. Girard, Samuel
  2. Choix de 1e ronde en 2019 (COL)
Détails additionnels:
Drouin would help COL top 6 a lot. We all know he played with MacKinnon and they were really close friends. This trade could help Colorado have more than that first line and McNiven has not proven anything but he has some upside.
COL
  1. Alzner, Karl (2 000 000 $ retained)
  2. Drouin, Jonathan
  3. McNiven, Michael
Détails additionnels:
Montreal loves this because it helps them find a very talented Left handed Puck moving d-man. They should not rush trading Drouin but this trade makes sense I think. LIngren and Primeau could be the duo next year in the AHL.

Lindgren has earned the right to backup Price full time next year so keep McNiven to play in the AHL next year and drop Alzner out of this deal to make it fair, it's not like MTL can't afford to bury him. I'm in no rush to trade Drouin but Girard and a late first rounder for him seems fair.

In what way? I thought their defense was not that bad this season and they do have Makar comming up.... THey do loose Girard but I thought Drouin would fit well overthere. Especially with that contract

I like this trade. I think its pretty fair, and since COL already have Ottawa's 1st, It makes sense to me. I would actually like to see Lindgren being the backup goalie next year but it's just a small detail.

To me, I think COL is overpaying. Girard is only in his second season and is playing 20 minutes a night. I think Drouin for Girard is a good start for a trade, but then it's pretty much McNiven and ALZNER for a first rounder, which a deal breaker for me even with the retained salary in there.

I'd love for girard vs drouin to go through but I doubt it happens.... Feel like COL would want more from MTL to help them in defense. I thought they might be interested in McNiven because I don't think they have good goalie prospect and it has been an issue all year. I get that Alzner and McNiven isn't worth a first tho....
