Maatta will more than likely be available, as the Penguins have too many D-men as it is.

We can't be signing any more Dman, unless he only has 1 year left on his contract. (or if we get Seabs or Keith traded, good luck with that). As is we are going to loose either Murphy or Joki to an expansion draft, unless they choose to protect both. Then we would only be able to protect 4 forwards, leaving Saad exposed, or Kampf, or Perlini. I wouldn't be surprised to see Joki traded, if Chicago acquires an top 6 forward via UFA.

I'm not too sure about that...he's a 24 year old puck moving defenseman who can score between 25-30 points a season when healthy and would be a solid defensive partner for Adam Boqvist whenever he first comes into the NHL.

Over Gus who's a way more solid puck moving D guy and tied for the 2nd in the league in defensive goals scored? C'mon man...Matta is worthless to the Hawks.
