Given what he signed for, I'd imagine you're likely low on Simmonds and Nyquist as well, unfortunately.

I can't .... over committed my funds to signing Panarin.

Simmonds is probably $5-5.5, Nyquist is probably $5.5-6, but Panarin probably starts with Stone's number ($9.5), and who knows where he could end up. I've seen some around here that have him getting $10.5-11

So remove Simmonds and add in Hughes. No more cap problems

Five years seems too long for Simmons. Vlary for another 3 years? There should be better goalie options in free agency this summer. Spend to the cap with long term contracts, you don't have room when some RFAs want raises.

Yikes to that Simmonds contract. Whoever signs him in the offseason is going to regret it. Also I think you're about $1.5M-$2M low on Kerfoot and Compher, and about $1M low on Zadorov.

I think Zadorov will be looking at Cody Ceci (4.3 mil) money and Avs might not want any part of that. Could see negotiations going to arbitration. I think Barrie and/or Zadorov will be traded at the draft for forward help. I could see Compher getting more than Kerfoot at this point. I think Rantanen will sign a shorter term deal around 5 years 9m, then cash in big time later on.
