Description

Add Panarin and Dzingel improves both even strenght and a much needed PP - the worst of the entire league - for Nashville. And McQuaid would improve the top 6 D pair.

As for the other teams...Columbus get a solid middle 6 two-way center in Bonino, plus a top d-man prospect in Fabbro and still a 1st and a conditional 3rd. I know it's an overpayment for a rental, even Panarin, but that's what happen in deadline.

Ottawa gets a good C prospect and a depth player, plus a high and a middle picks.

And Rangers get a 3rd for McQuaid. They're a rebuilding team, so it makes sense for them for sure.

PS: If I were Predators GM, I'd try to make at least the trades to get Panarin and McQuaid.

I'd argue the rangers not wanting to retaining salary has more to do with only being allowed 3 salary retention slots. They already used one on Spooner and assuming they plan to use one on Hayes or Zuccarello, it doesn't make sense to waste a slot on $500,000

My first thought was trade Tolvanen. But Columbus D is their biggest problem, in my opinion. So get Fabbro also makes sense for them. And, as a Preds GM, I'd try to keep Tolvanen. Specially in a trade to get a rental. Besides, I added Bonino in my trade. So, it's more than enough to get Panarin.
