I don't think there is a market for Allen unless the team trading retains significant salary, includes a heavy sweetener, or takes back a cap dump in return.

However, due to the back-loaded nature of his contract, they could buy him out this summer without a significant cap hit in any given year.

Return for Quick seems reasonable considering they'd be giving the Blues an out on Allen's contract.

Yeah would think a mid round pick would be the return for Allen so not great but Blues can't afford to take Quick without Allen leaving. Which is why the Kings get good value for Quick here.

I meant I don't think the Kings would be able to flip Allen in the summer. He has negative trade value and the Kings wouldn't be able to trade him away unless they sweetened the trade a bit by either retaining salary or including another piece.

I proposed a trade for Quick earlier today and was wondering what it would take. I offered Allen and a couple 2nd tier prospects in Sammy Blais and Sanford with a second. I do believe that it may take a Kostin or Kyrou type of player though. I could definitely get behind this.

I honestly think Allen is the perfect player that needs a change in scenery. He is one of the best goalies on the road, but sucks at home. Blues struggled defensively early and Allen paid the price. Not that he played well, but the team play had a bit to do with it to. Maybe if he played for a different team he would only play bad in STL smile

To this point, with the Kings pedigree developing goalies, I am extremely confident he would regain his form. It may take until the 2020 deadline but someone would be willing to give up assets for him if the Kings were looking to flip him at some point.
