That Pesce trade is a massive overpayment. Also, Gardiner will be getting $6 mill or more on a multi year deal - Leafs wont be able to afford him unless they move out multiple pieces.

Not sure about that....wasnt Orpik ending his contract and got traded on Jun 2018....Marleau still has one valid year of contract in front of him for the maneuvre like that.....

Orpik would be on 5.5mil contract this year if it wasnt for Colorado. They had cap space to buy him out in favour of Washington, if Marleau would agree on that we can do it.

Marleau is injured all the time that's why he isn't playing like most players getting paid 6 million
