It's all circumstantial though. How many UFA years are the Leafs buying, and if so, what is the cap projected to trend at? Will it go up or down? etc. Lots of factors. He did receive a full NMC clause in final year and 93% of the contract is signing bonuses, which I would say only maybe 10 teams in this league could afford to do. I think the Leafs could have gotten 6 years at the current cap hit. I really don't feel confident is Dubas a negotiator.
