They're rentals... I'll swap one of the players with Dobson but you are in for a let down when you see what the Sens get back at the deadline....

Cup Champions LOL!!!! It is a decent looking team until you get to the D and goalies. Good luck with that.

Stone and Duchene both get the Sens a 1st and a decent prospect. So maybe take Aho out for Dobson and change the 2 2nds to a first

If you think the defense and goaltending is an Achilles heel of the Islanders I suggest you come out from under your rock and check NHL.com FAST

trade deadline szn is terminal cancer szn on CapFriendly. it’s called armchair gm for a reason. Nobody knows what any of these guys cost and won’t know until they’re traded so until then I would not listen to anybody when they say it’s not close because they know as much as you do

I'll check after they exit in the first round. Playoffs is when it matters

In that case I guess Freddy Andersen is a bad goalie?

Agreed. Look at what players have fetched at the deadline historically. Just because you're a Sens fan (not you, just speaking generally) doesn't mean your two rental players are worth more than the market. A first and a prospect for each is MORE than fair value for these guys. 3 decent prospects with NHL experience and upside plus those picks is a pretty solid trade IMO. I remember expecting a ton for Vanek a few years ago only to acquire a middling prospect and a 2nd round pick.

To add to this, with a bunch of teams dropping out of the race in the East, there will be a bunch of sellers and the market maybe even lower than what I proposed. Time will tell.

LMAO you have not watched any of the Isles games this season have you? Their young D core is stacked and the envy of the league right not and both goalies have been top goalies in the league and have been super consistent.

I'm looking forward to them crashing down the standings to a wild card spot and losing in the first round. Just wait and see! Go Leafs Go! Go Tavares Go!

I'll remember you when we send you're constantly underachieving Maple Laughs and their fearless pajama wearing leader home in the playoffs. =]

Cup champions set in stone... I beg to differ! But pretending it is actually set in stone, don't expect NYR's management to congratulate the Islanders cup victory after thanking the host city for their hospitality at this years upcoming draft!!!

That being said in regards to said post... "If" one looked at last July first as a trade between the Isle's & TOR instead of Tavares only signing as a UFA with TOR, the difference in trade between Lou Lamorillo & Garth Snow is much greater than anyone on NYI's roster replacing the departed Tavares.

That's fair. I wouldn't want the Isles to congratulate the Rangers if we we're hosting the draft in one of our many homes (sigh...). But yeah I agree Trotz and Lou > Weight, Garth AND Tavares is mind blowing. Lou hasn't really done to much since he has been here either. Trotz has made all the difference in the world along with the young D men stepping up. Pulock, Mayfield, Pelech, and Toews all have been playing great hockey.

I have a strong feeling that Trotz would have taken a different coaching job being offered to him at the time if Snow were running NYI instead of Lamorillo.

YYYYYYAAAAAASSSSSS!!!!! THIS!!!! Exactly this!!!! Everything about this comment is right. Pick and a prospect is all you can hope for. Duchene looks like he’s leaving, they’ll get about that. Stone supposedly wants to stay, so the Sens have more leverage but at the same time the re-sign chances of his new team are lower. It’s all a game. Not to mention, the player added usually doesn’t make a drastic impact on the cup run.
