I think CBJ would rather let Bobrovsky walk than take Allen to the team...he is just no good. There needs to be something more tempting in that package.

Bobrovsky for Schwartz? He can replace Panarin on top line once he leaves...

Well that would be no good for Blues then, because they lose a first line winger and get a goalie that might not re-sign.

Extremely complicated, ain't it?

yeah but Blues have pretty good young forwards coming up but have needed a goalie for years now...they have a good enough squad imo to salvage their season if they can stabilaze their goaltending...Binnington has been solid but i dont think you can depend on him leading a deep playoff run but Bobrovsky could be the difference maker they need. Its not like Schwartz has a ton of term left anyway and has had a hard time staying healthy. Seems like both players could use a change of scenery. I think STL could be a potential landing spot for Bob in the summer as a UFA so they could get first crack at signing them while also improving their team in a deal.

Well as an UFA I think Bob will not end up to STL just for monetarily reasons. I just don't see them having the cap, especially if Bob is going for almost a Price-like contract as it's rumored...

who would you put your money on to sign him?
I feel the top two teams would be Carolina and Ottawa but both are low budget teams and definitely would not sign him to a Price deal. STL i feel is more in win now mode especially after all the signings trades this offseason. I think they have enough assests to move some money around and could win the bidding war in summer

CAR and NYI were my highest options, but I don't know if NYI needs him anymore since Lehner has been so good.

Probably CAR, CGY, FLA and STL are strongest options. I don't see him signing with OTT - well actually I don't see OTT paying him enough, knowing Melnyk and all.

Edit: Also PHI might be considered an option, though I don't think they should get him since Hart is performing quite nicely. PHI should be actively looking for an UFA goalie, but I don't know if Bob is their target since he's going for a giant contract.

Lol I checked some history, there's not a single UFA contract OTT has signed that's over $1M cap hit in last 10 years.

I believe Ron Tugnutt is the consensus (?) top UFA signing in team history

Melnyk's not the guy looking at the market. He likes to make the team through the youth, it seems. Or via trades.

St Louis is barely treading water right now, Bobrovsky would be foolish to waive his NMC to go there. Even with Bob St Louis would face a 1st round exit. Bob if dealt should be traded to a team that he can help win a cup. And that's definitely not St Louis.

Lebrun reported that Bob would want to come to STL already. I do believe the Blues would be willing to pay Bob what it takes. As someone said, they have had a problem with Goaltending for YEARS! If they can find someone that can provide the solution, I think they would do it. As far as Schwartz... We love him here... but the dude just cant stay healthy and isnt producing at all this year. I will say we are pretty weak at LW.... the young guys you speak about are mostly RW. BUT I think you would have to seriously consider giving up schwartz to do this.. you can always move Perron to LW if need be.

As far as the Blues treading water.... they have been playing MUCH better since Mid-Dec..... but we just havent had the goaltending. Binnie comes in and has provided good consistent play and he is 5-1-1. SO I think that tells you all you need to know. Blues have Jaybo and his $5.4 coming off.... if you trade Schwartz thats another $5m+... would have to find someone to take Allen and his $4m+ (prob have to retain some there). I would hope a team like Flyers (who have been reported to have interest) might find him useful to share the load with a young guy for a couple of years until he is ready to take over.

I really think Allen is the epitome of a guy who needs a change of scenery. The dude is one of the best goalies on the road, but sucks at home. I think he is a good goalie....not great, but can play elite (remember statistically he was the best the second half when Yeo took over), he isnt as mentally tough as one would like. But I think a change of scenery would do him wonders.

St Louis does make tons of sense for Bob, Also heard that he has interest in Florida as well. He's good friends with Dadonov same with Panarin. Heard that Panarin and Bob might be interested in coming to Florida together.

Panarin and tarasenko are good friends. Tarasenko told Blues to go after Panarin when he was avail...they didn't of course. Now they regret. I don't think Panarin wants to come here anyway. But interesting nugget
