Description

Reductio ad absurdum: a Latin phrase meaning to expose an argument’s falsity by extending it to its logical extreme, thereby rendering it ridiculous. Like asserting that it makes sense to rock the boat occasionally, so you should vote for . . . well, I’m sure you can complete the thought.

We keep reading over and over again that Toronto’s defense is woefully weak, and insufficient to win more than a Stanley Cup playoff series or two. Well, after teams have played 50 games, Toronto’s defense will stand tied for 7 t h place in goals against. Obviously, some improvement is necessary. So I’ve switched each one of Toronto’s defensemen with a player from each team with a better goals-against figure. The resulting roster should, of course, be guaranteed to win the Cup.

Yeah, and Toronto had Nylander for half the season, and Tampa has been virtually injury-free while the Maple Leafs have been without Matthews and Andersen at times. This is going to be a good Stanley Cup season. Can't wait for the first-round sweep of the Bruins.

C'mon this is getting to be another non factual urban legend. I'm sure it will continue forever like other misinformed nonsense, like Arizona has to take on bad contracts to get to the cap floor every year.
So last year, Curtis Back up Mcilllerny had better GAA and Save % than Freddie. Hard to believe Freddy has saved the Leafs for every game for and year and half since he doesn't play every game. Last year, Leafs GAA, had were identical to Washington and they managed to win a Cup with their defensive play.
