What would these players net

Description
These are, in my opinion, the most trade-able assets Detroit has on the roster as of today. Pay no attention to the receiving team.

What teams do you think would be interested in these players and what would they give up?

Bear in mind that Gus and Vanek have NTCs. Holland has said that he wants a first for Howie and Gus. Seems high, but its always easier to lower your price than raise it. Daley is not included because he is still on IR. I also don't think the market is that strong for him and I;d rather keep a vet around as a depth guy, even if he's a bit expensive.

The future isn't very nice for Detroit. Zadina isn't the expected player for the moment. Cholowski is almost the only good prospect, I don't believe that McIsaac is a NHL'er... Rasmussen could be a 2nd liner, Hronek maybe a TOP4... This team is so old!!!!

And I'm sure Holland will sign a 29 year-old Gus for like 5-6 years and 6 mil per...This team has been managed so poorly over the last decade its disgusting. Borderline criminal how badly this team has atrophied. So many bad contracts too. At least most of them will be gone within the next 2 years. Team really did almost nothing right from that loss in game 7 to the pens until they drafted Larkin.

I think at best Nyquist 2019 2nd+2020 3rd round pick, Vanek 2019 5th round pick, Jensen 2019 3rd round pick maybe. Howard 50% retention or $2.65 million maybe a 2019 3rd if that. Glendening a 2019 3rd Holland wants a 2nd for him but wont get it.

It all depends on the market. If every playoff teams goalie is healthy and playing well, there may not even be a market for a guy like Howard for example. But as soon as a couple goalies get injured, the demand rises. The more teams in demand, the better the return will be.

This will apply for all the players mentioned. This year seems to be a year where there is quite a bit of good players available for TDL so that may effect the others players value.

The honest truth is no one knows until we get a little closer to the deadline. Too much can happen from now till then.

One thing everyone has to remember, is all these picks DET will acquire won't be early round picks (if they are the original picks by the teams). Playoff teams start at pick 15 in every round (and real contenders are even later). So, a 2nd round pick isn't going to be pick 33, it'll end up being in the 50s more than likely. GMs value picks on points (just like in the NFL), and there is a huge difference between pick 33 and pick 43, so values are always higher (which is why every deadline, someone says "I can't believe so and so got a 1st for ...."). Round 1, pick 14 is worth round 1, pick 30 and round 2, pick 35 (every GM has their own calculator).

Also, I expect KH to not take all picks from 2019, but to start spreading some of these picks out a little bit. You can' draft 11 guys every year, as you can't put that many in GR.

My breakdown:

Nyquist: 2nd with an upgrade to a 1st (based on time in playoffs, either a CF or SCF appearance by the team) + a B prospect. Retention probably adds something to the trade.
Jensen: 2nd (dmen costs always go up, and his metrics are really good, plus affordable RHD list has 1 name on it as the rest aren't affordable in season)
Vanek (if he goes): 3rd
Kronwall (if he accepts): I can't see KH parting with him without a 2nd. A 3rd doesn't move the needle at all.
Frk: 6th rounder (I expect him to be bundled with someone)
Howard: 2nd with an upgrade to a 1st (this is because he'll only end up going to a top contender, who will be all in for the finals). KH won't move him for a 3rd.
Helm: I think he's in play (with salary retention), 2nd, with DET shipping out a late round pick
Glendening: KH won't move him without a 2nd (I don't think he gets moved at all, he would be tough to replace metric wise, and DET isn't deep at C).

Good points all around. I basically agree with all of TMarch's prices except:

Kronner: I don't think KH would try to move him nor do I think he wants to leave. I also don't really see anyone picking up the phone and asking for him.
Frk: pick wouldn't even be worth it, though I agree that he'd be part of a package

I definitely do not agree with your assessment that the future isn't very nice for Detroit. Especially for the reasons that you have stated. Cholowski is not the only good prospect that we have.

Zadina - He may not be living up to your expectations currently, however, he is a better prospect than any in our system currently. The jump from juniors (especially from the QMJHL) to pro leagues (even the AHL) is massive, and the majority of them need a bit of time at the pro level to develop. Zadina has the added benefit of being able to go to a Pro league over juniors, which helps his development exponentially. He is an elite level prospect.
Veleno - This kid is absolutely tearing up the QMJHL this year. He is a center with elite skating and playmaking ability. He has all the skills and tools to become a top 6 forward.
McIsaac - Can you please explain your reasons behind thinking he is not an NHL caliber prospect? He is producing at more than a PPG in the QMJHL and has improved every year he's been in that league. He is an excellent skating and has a good first pass. He also plays with a bit of a mean streak.
Rasmussen - I actually think the 2nd line would be overrating his ability. He is a 3rd line player that specializes on the power play. Detroit drafted him for the sole reason to stick him in front of the net on the power play and to retrieve and protect pucks.
Hronek - Had a great first pro year and is continuing that in the NHL. He will definitely be a top 4 defenceman on this team.

I'm not including Berggren in this list as he has been injured this whole year, but I think he is also a top 6/9 forward as well. Detroit will probably get a top 5 pick this year and there are 5 really good prospects to choose from there. Detroit also has a lot of cap coming off this year giving them lots of flexibility to shore up the defense in the next 2 years. These old players are also coming off the books over the next 2 years.

Detroit's future is very bright. There are holes to fix, but the core is already there and looking very promising.

As fan, it's your right!!
1- Zadina: Right now, he's under the expectations, with time maybe he will become a good player, I hope!! But actually, his defensive game isn't correct, he's a one way player.
2- Veleno: He was suppose to be a top10 pick, did you see him at the WJC?? He plays big against little and he plays little against big...
3- McIsaac: I'm not very sure about this one, I saw him 3-4 times this year and something is wrong about his game, but I canno't tell you what it is...

I'm living in Quebec, I saw this 3 prospects in arena few times... Maybe Zadina will understand something and progress, maybe McIsaac will developp correct. But you can forget Veleno, he plays the same than Louis Leblanc...

I am merely pointing out that you said Cholowski is our only good prospect, which I think is not accurate.

1. I don't think Zadina is under expectations, just that we as fans have to temper our expectations of these players as they develop. A half season in Grand Rapids should not be determinate on whether he is a bust or not. You also have to realize that they may not be giving Zadina free reins to go out there and play the style of game that he is meant too. They are most likely teaching him other aspects of the game that he will need at the pro level, and those aspects are probably his focus at the moment.
2. I did watch Veleno at the WJC, but I'm not sure if you did. He was put in a very limited role on the 4th line and then moved up to the 3rd line as the tournament wore on as he was proving to be better than how they were deploying him. Most shifts he was driving his line and making plays happen. He was called out by the coach one game, and came back and had a very strong game in which the coach praised him for. If you've watched him play you'll notice that his puck protection, skating, and passing are all at elite levels. His goal scoring ability, which was a concern, has greatly improved this season. If you watched him this summer at the prospect camp, he was the best player out there.
3. McIsaac was a long shot to make the WJC team but he made it. I don't think 3-4 viewings is a very good measure for a prospect, and the fact that you can't tell what is wrong with his game is very telling. He is leading his team in points among defensemen and is over a PPG player.

I have seen these players play in person, as I was at the WJC. I've also watched many of their shift by shift videos that are online, as well their team highlights after every game they play, and some of the games that are broadcasted. Not sure how you think it isn't serious. Honestly, you have not provided any context to your statements other than something is not right and how you feel about the player.
