Just for fun - Edmonton's 4OA

Créé par: Dullard
Équipe: 2016-17 Jets de Winnipeg
Date de création initiale: 18 mai 2016
Publié: 18 mai 2016
Mode - plafond salarial: Basique
Description
Edmonton has been flaunting their #4 pick and Jets are RHD overloaded. An extra 3 yrs of ELC and expansion draft exemption may be the best justification. Loads of cap space if they wanted to add another piece.

Morrissey and Juolevi polish their games in time for Enstrom and Stuart's contracts to expire.

Laine and Joulevi live together and terrorize the exchange district.

awesome description (mostly the ending). the price for 4OA is more than just Trouba. How much more Im not sure. Probably a mid round pick or something like that. Personally I dont think they will trade trouba. I think they are scared to watch him grow into a top end guy that he still might become.

I like the shiny new toys. I still smile at the sight of that LW depth chart. Might not be next season, but the Jets are armed to do some serious damage soon.

Would you rather see them package Myers and a pick or prospect?

IMO my opinion the Oilers can get better value for the 4th overall than Trouba. Edmonton does have cap space and can sign a UFA Dman and still develop a Dman via the draft,
How's this trade 4th overall to Montreal 9th. One of the top three Dmen would still be available at 9. Plus Oilers can get something else from Montreal.

The Wideman trade makes a lot of sense.

Trouba's reported $56M over 8 years contract demand has to scare the Jets brass. His agent is Kurt Overhardt. Same guy that convinced Johansen, Turris and Dubinsky not to report to camp. Jets don't need any distractions.

Doesn't matter what Trouba wants...If he truly thinks he's worth that much, let another team offer it, even 50m over 8 years. Jets can get compensation. Jets do no have to give in to unreasonable requests, and if the Jets are wrong and he can get big money, let Trouba get an offer sheet or play in the KHL.

Players are not distracted. Actually with salary caps, many will think, Trouba doesn't deserve the money and if he does he's taking money out of my pocket. It's the media that drums up the frenzy to the fans.

Risky but could be worth it but it may also not be worth it. (4OA for Trouba)

You got to understand Trouba and his agent know perfectly well his value in the NHL right now. Juolevi might have a higher ceiling by some people's evaluation but still has to prove he can do it at the NHL level which as much as people like to think is a 100% certainty, it may not be. He may just turn out to be another Joni Pitkanen...(Which is still nice but a downgrade for Trouba)...... Trouba at the very least has shown you what's to come. He plays currently the NHL's most sought after position (Top 1-4 RH dman) and has a wonderful set of skills at his disposal that other players like Juolevi don't have like "nastiness" for example. I know Winnipeg might not have the money for his big contract demands but losing him for less than his true value would be a costly mistake at this point in time. I still think, given the Johansen for Jones trade, the trade that makes the absolute most sense and actually works in ways that many people are not taking into account would be Trouba for Nugent Hopkins.
