Ladd at $3.5M has some value. He would waive his full NTC a year early (becomes a 15 team M-NTC next season) to go to a competitor. WPG used as an example.

I'd personally have a hard time moving Dobson for a forward. Would rather send Wahlstrom in a package for Tarasenko because my logic is that you pray at his best Wahlstrom becomes Tarasenko, sort of like Dobson-Parayko

The thing is, I don’t know that the Blues would be super interested in Wahlstrom. We’ve already got Bokk, Kyrou, and Kostin as our right wingers of the future. Obviously Dobson would be painful to lose for you, but I think that would be the centerpiece.

Fair but not necessarily - the Blues biggest need is not forward depth

Nope. The only other possible scenario would be Wilde, Bellows, Soderstrom and a 2019 1st.

The Blue that the Isles should be targeting is ROR.

Please never, that is too much money and way too many years for him.

Sorokin isn't coming over until he can sign for whatever he wants and not the league minimum. Panarin gets a minimum of $10 mil most likely and I'm not sure I want to head in that direction.

I also don't understand what everyone's obsession is with trading Dobson. In 3 years, while already having a solid defensive core, our 6 defensemen could be (in no particular order) Pulock, Mayfield, Towes, Dobson, Wilde and either Leddy or Boychuk. If by then 2/55 have been moved then someone else rounds out the 6th spot. With the level of talent that is projected for this group of young defensemen, the Islanders are looking at having a defensive core like Nashville does right now. It's very exciting!

He's gonna have to sign a 1 year ELC regardless. Can't walk into a monster contract. There will have to be one under the table though.

No they hold his rights for an extra year after his ELC period I believe. So there's a small window where he can be signed as a free agent but only the Isles have rights to him for that season. I'd have to look up exactly how it goes. The NHL did it because then they know some players would never make their way over from Russia.

CapFriendly says Sorokin's rights are indefinite to the Islanders. Not one year after ELC. I do not think you are correct
