Description
If Pittsburgh reverted all the bad trades that could have really made an impact on our team at this moment... this is what it would look like.

Bad trades as of 2015.

Ignore Salary Cap as of course things would be changed there.

If this was reverted and Penguins didn't trade their first rd pick that year... then they would have had Barzal!!!

            Frank Corrado

This deal always shook my head. Corrado is horrible and a bust. Oleksy and Kara aren't very good. But the key point is Eric Fehr... who is a very solid offensive depth person.

Pedan didn't do anything. Demin was a bust. Pouliot would have been solid depth to help us this year.

If they revert the Perron trade, then Hagelin never happens, then HBK never happens, then the pens have 2 less cups, and we wouldn’t have Pearson now.

Pouliot also never fit here. And what do you mean Pedan didn’t do anything. Probably one of our best defenseman for the ahl team. He is just on loan to Russia right now from my understanding. Fehr also never really found his fitting here.

Umm I disagree. Well ok yes, Pouliot never fit, but Fehr did as in 2016 he was the main reason why Pittsburgh had the NHL's best 4th line. Pedan never did anything for the NHL team, the most important thing.

The Fehr trade was a salary dump so that the Streit trade could happen. A #6 D was more important than a #13 F.

Pouliot was not going to get any ice time in Pittsburgh so they traded him somewhere that would play him. They actually made that trade "for him".

Slava Demin ... can an 18 year old that was drafted 6 months ago actually be called a "bust"?

Fehr? That is... not accurate. He wasn't bad, but he wasn't good. He was rather disappointing after leaving Washington. He was hurting. He was on the Leafs for one week shy of a year and played a total of 5 games for them. He was a shadow of the Caps Fehr.

The only “bad” trade pens have made since then, would be:

-Reeves and a 2nd for a first. This was a big mistake
-sheary And hunwick for scraps then signs JJ, sheary is a good depth player and hunwick could’ve rode LTIR for majority of his time in pit

The worst trade was undoubtedly the Reaves trade. The Blues drafted the number 1 European skater (questionable scouting) and got Sundqvist who has more even strength goals than Tarasenko. The Penguins got half a year of Reaves playing 5 minutes a night and they used their 2nd rounder on a non-NHL player. That trade looked bad at the time, but looks even worse now.

Fehr was a cap dump, I didn't like the move when it happened but they needed cap space to make their cup run.

The Pens drafted the same player at 51 that they were going to at 31. The pick flip cost the Pens nothing.

Oh, well in that case they should hire new scouts.

The pens wanted Jokiharju. Once he got taken by the hawks, they really didn’t see any other 1st round talent defensemen. They were looking D all the way. If Lauzon doesn’t pan out, the pens are no worse for the wear. It was a gamble worth taking. Kostin would have just been stuck behind a bunch of players. We already had a talented scoring prospect in Sprong in that situation.
