If our lord and savior Patrice Bergeron has to get surgery and it ends his season then it's safe to say this season could be chalked up as a wasted one. There would be really no point in going out and spending future assets to give the fans a false sense of hope. I wouldve tried to dump off Krejci and Backes but that likely wont be done until the Summer time if it happens. PLAY THE KIDS! Idc how rough it could be at times let them get the experience at the NHL level, and see what they got. We've seen Lauzon, Urho, JFK play and they've shown potential in spirts. We could even call up Senyshyn and see what happens. Maybe I'm being a pessimist but sometimes the truth sucks and I dont see this team doing anything past April without Bergy in the lineup.

I agree with you. I would not giving up to many future assets, without Bergy we can't compete.
1) Let the kids play
2) Moving Backes
3) Disagree on Krejci. He really shines with Pasta and Marchy and shows how great he is as a playmaker with 2 good wingers. The mission would be finding a very good RW/LW for the 2nd line. DeBrusk - Krejci - XXX. Heinen and JFK could build a really competitive 3rd line tho.

Theres really not much to sell lol. You can't move backes, can't move krejci, im just saying give the kids the minutes. Maybe they make the playoffs but Im just being a realist if Bergy is out for the season. I dont see this team doing anything come April. As for debrusk i thought he was just a healthy scratch.

Sure you can move Backes and Krejci. I mean it would be extremely difficult because of NMC's but there are teams that would absolutely trade for Krejci. Backes would be a bit tougher, but he's started to show life in his game again. As for DeBrusk, why would he be a healthy scratch? The guy is the 2nd leading goal scorer on the team and the team has been lacking secondary scoring. He took a puck off the head early in the Tampa game and hasn't felt well since.

Either way, trading Krug is a terrible idea right now. Even while missing 11 of 30 games, he accounts for nearly 40% of the defensive point production. If you trade him, you have no one to replace his production. Please don't bring up Gryz either, he's not even close to the offensive player that Krug is.
