Barrie is better than Gardiner and Dermott.

If they cant sign Nylander they should look to trade him rather than letting him sit out a year and not getting any value out of him.

First that's a bad term (for term) for Leafs. Leafs would probably be glad to sign Nylander for 6.9m X 8, instead of trading for Barrie with 1.75 years till UFA.

Barrie may be slightly better than Gardiner, May slightly. Dermott Is a cost-controlled rookie at this point that still on the team. Neither of them cost you Nylander.

Slightly better points playing PP minutes and not a world beater defensively, Gardiner is an elite puck mover as is Barrie. RHD is the main difference between the two. You're biased to say the gap is huge.
