You have no idea what the sabres are. Hutton is our guy right now and ullmark is our guy for the future. Not overpaying for Crawford.

No. Sabres are comfortable with their goaltending. They're definitely not giving up Pilut and breaking apart their 2nd line. Thats too much to ask to begin with

I am extremely happy paying a few million for above average goaltending. Unless we are getting help at center or rhd im not in any kind of hurry to move 1st or 2nds.
Let me break this trade down:
Saad v Okposo. Cap hit is the same, Saad a year less, Age 26 v 30, pts/gm career .594 v .682, pts/game ytd .609 v .600, g/gm career.279 v .256. This appears to be a slight edge to Saad due to his age, length of contract and scoring more goals. Okposo's only edge is he has significantly more pts per game over his career and more pts this year.
Crawford v Hutton Crawford is more than double Hutton's cap hit, Age 33 v 32 GAA career .918 v .916, Save % career 2.39 v 2.43, GAA ytd 2.98 v 2.50 Save % ytd .906 v .920 Crawford has 2 hall of fame forwards and possibly 2 hall of fame defensemen on his team. Why would I trade for Crawford.
Let's presume the trade can be broken down Crawford, Corey for Hunwick, Matt; Pilut, Lawrence; Sheary, Conor; and 2019 1st round pick (SJS), why would Buffalo give up a 1st, a dynamite defenseman prospect, a mid six LW and a cap dump that when traded will cost the Sabres to give up an earlier round pick, for a GK that is only moderately better than the one they have?
Saad, Brandon for Okposo and 2021 2nd round pick (STL) Saad is not that big of an upgrade so a second is all I would offer in this portion of the trade.
This is such an easy no.
