Interesting, but I'm not sure the hawks want to move Boqvist to sign a 20 goal scorer for 6.8 million.

I don't think Chicago would do that. They really like boqvist and they wanna get younger and they need to get younger on the back end so this wouldn't help them

Satisfies both team needs. Chicago rounds the top 6 with a proven 60 point player while Toronto takes the same gamble Tampa did on Sergy with boqvist

If the Hawks were in a position that this one move might push them into the playoff picture, then sure, I would say they'd consider moving Boqvist. But between their cap problems and a bit of unknown as far as team direction, it doesn't make sense, to me anyway, to consider moving development pieces, even if the piece you're receiving is only 22 years old. And by the way, I think it would take more than Boqvist and a 2nd to acquire Nylander, but that's just me.

Rather satisfy the top 6 problem with a package of lesser valued D men, but I get where you're coming from and what you're trying to do.

If it's more than Boqvist and a 2nd you can keep him. No sense in trading Boqvist+ for a guy who hasn't played all year.

its a fair trade imo. but if boqvist turns out be a hieskanen type player, chicago loses that by a mile. let boqvist play a few games next season then its easier to evaluate. plus chicago doesnt have the cap to retain nylander. on top of that, chicago needs someone to replace seabrook

Chicago DOES have the cap space for Nylander or Duchene or Panarin. I think Boqvist and a 2nd is highway robbery though as Boqvist is going to be a top 20 defenseman in this league in a short amount of time.

Connor Murphy or Erik Gustaffson, plus Ian Mitchell and a 2nd for Nylander would be a good move for both teams.

Played all year? What would that even matter when you are signing a young elite forward to a max term deal? Blackhawks make this deal for scoring and youth, though expensive, if they are in a better position with their cap and win-now attitude. Neither unfortunately is the case at the moment, though with the Schmaltz deal, their cap is looking a little bit better.

Nylander is not elite. He's a top 6 forward but he's not elite. Blackhawks get older in this deal, so take out the youth part. It matters because he hasn't played in an NHL system let alone practiced in one since April.
