Unbiased fan here since I don't really care for either of Washington and Pittsburgh. WTF was Malkin supposed to do in that situation? Embrace him with open arms? Oshie was skating right into Malkin and Malkin braced for the hit. It's unfortunate that Oshie got blown up, but he shouldn't have been skating full-speed into Malkin. Malkin never shifted his weight into Oshie, he hardly even flinched. At most he looks like he's tensing up since he's expecting an almost 200lb man flying into him. I don't see how that's even a penalty, let alone fine/suspension worthy. At regular speed it looks a little suspicious but when you look at the slow motion there's nothing that indicated Malkin was trying to hurt Oshie.

It's important to remember that, Malkin scores more goals than Oshie, just like Marchand scores more goals than Eller.

Also, that in the minds of nonagenarians who run the league, Washington is just an upstart expansion team with no business winning the Cup.

That was a terrible play by Malkin to go high, but Oshie did an amazing job of selling it just like he did in the first period

Malkin is skating the other direction. He skated right into him. I hope the NHL fines TJ for embellishment upon review.

I just don't see it. All I see is him bracing for Oshie since Oshie is literally flying into him like a dummy. Again, what is Malkin supposed to do differently? This stuff happens so quickly that even professional hockey players can't react quick enough. The title is also misleading because it forces you to have a preconvinced notion that it's a dirty hit.
