Very interesting idea. Colorado desperately needs someone to run their 2nd line. Their top line is doing way too much of the work right now. If they believe Nylander can actually play center well, I'd think they go for it? I'm not too sure though.

Colorado says no, easily.

I doubt they trade Makar alone for Nylander

Probably both. Leafs aren’t looking for just futures and Avs might be better off keeping theirs.

Liljegren is being groomed to be a better version then Maker with the Marlies. Leafs have no need for Makar.

No need for Makar.? Not saying the Leafs do the trade, but geez teams love high end Dmen especially on ELCs. In a couple of years the Leaf couldn't find space for Liljegren, Makar, Sandin, Reilly, Dermot? C'mon.

Makar is an unsigned student player... could be risky business. I’m not going to comment on who is better. Think in the set of circumstances liljegren is the better choice. Especially if makar decides to finish school. Not to even mention that if he wants to enter as a ufa that there would only be a 30 day window to sign him. Liljegren will be ready to go next year and that is what we need.

Not a chance in the world the Leafs are trading Nylander for an unproven D man.
I like the Nylander, Gardner swap for Dougie Hamilton, Warren Foegele, Julien Gauthier

Oh no doubt but his deadline isn’t in 3 years it’s this years draft. Chances of him not signing are ridiculously low but he’s no sure bet to be on the roster without any further development either.
