HOT-AWA SENATORS

Créé par: TCMonkey
Équipe: 2018-19 Sénateurs d'Ottawa
Date de création initiale: 20 oct. 2018
Publié: 20 oct. 2018
Mode - plafond salarial: Basique
Description
The Toronto trade gives them a bargain deal on a very fast, 26 y/o top 6 RW who they could sign at 5X5. Moving Dzingel and Ceci is theoretically an immediate deal, whereas the Pyatt and Pajaarvi deals are both at deadline which is when we'd move the Balcers-Chlapik-Batherson line up to see how they do. It's a more dangerous team with a lot more cap space.

Toronto is more likely to be interested in Ceci, but they have already a stacked RW situation- Dzingel would be a 4th liner or waived - no way they cramp their cap for him. They probably want a 1st, a top prospect and a good RD for Nylander.

If Nashville is taken for example, do you think Nashville needs to pay something like 1st rounder, Tolvanen and Ellis/Ekholm? That's way too much to pay to get Nylander.

I'd be MORE than happy to give them Ceci, the Sharks 2020 1st round pick and their choice of any ONE of the following prospects: Gagne, Luchuk, Nurmi, or Harpur. OR Ceci, White and our 2019 2nd. But when you include Ceci in ANY trade to Toronto on here they lose their poop on you.

The trade that the Leafs are looking for is Chabot+ for Nylander.

Yeah take a hike with that.... I wouldn't do Nylander for Hotsam Batcho 1 for 1. Chabot is a way more valuable asset.

I don't think he's suggesting Ottawa would or SHOULD make that trade. Anyone who understands hockey knows there's a BIG difference between what a team is "looking for" and what they GET. No team is giving up an elite puck moving defensemen on an ELC who's already proving dominant to acquire a winger who is holding out for a long term 7 to 8 million dollar contract. If there was a team willing to do that trade Nylander would already have been moved. Either he'll cave and sign a bridge contract with Toronto or Toronto will cave and move him for the best offer.

Personally, I wouldn't trade for Nylander, period. What he's looking for is bloated based on his stats to date and they don't need another 7m plus forward after they resign Duchene and Stone *fingers crossed*.
I'd trade Ceci for Kapanen though lol

IF Ottawa could get Nylander and LoVerde for what I've suggested in the original trade (Dzingel + Bergman + 2nd + 4th) I would still do it in a heartbeat. But I have to admit that I am rethinking the Ceci + White + 2nd offer I made in the comments above. White is finally starting to show some of that swagger and strength he had in the WJC. But Ceci + Dzingel and a 2nd, yes, I'd probably still pull the trigger because together their two new contract alone would cost us more than Nylander.

Don't know if you watched last night's game but White looked explosive and confident. Made some great plays and created some havoc in front of the net. If more time means more of that? Then I'll be very patient haha.

Nylander would no doubt improve the skill and that original package I would accept but it would remind me of the last 'retool'. As soon as they showed signs of good play, they traded for players to make the team 'better' when I thought they should just let them grow. Like some players said, they aren't dealing with a dictatorship for playing situations. I say we keep it that way.
