I think that it is a fair trade. Petro is a great player and a fine human being, but he is not a great captain. The Blues have some fine young players and should build off of that base. This trade would facilitate that.

I find it a bit tilted and short sighted. This would be the deal for a blues team that is competing and looking for more offence. If this is some sort of TDL deal... no way.

No doubt. I really don't want to trade Petro. Would prefer to offer the Leafs Parayko for less obviously.

I think value of the pieces you get back will determine how many. This a huge overpay... in manor of term and age. But yes agreed you need to fix between the pipes but 13 goals in 4 games is a bit light with the way the nhl is trending. Can’t depend on winning with 2 and 3 goals.

I wouldn't want to give up Parayko. Parayko is our best Defenceman. Petro is making the game too complicated. and making it harder on the team. Petro is making mistakes with the basic fundamentals of Defense. Don't get out of position and don't let anyone behind you and he does both too much. Petro is also one of if not the worst captains in the league. Parayko is ready for top line and believe we could use Nylander and Liljegren for the future retooling we will have to do.

I mean, if the Blues sit that low in the standings Yeo and Armstrong are fired, but the value is certainly there for Petro. I'd consider it.

I thought it was a pig.... I’m just not sure where some of these values come from. I think it would just make more sense and also make someone look less foolish to just say there is no reasonable trade we would take for player X... I find it baffling that he turns down nylander and liljegren (a great package and an overpayment) to then turn around and rip him and pretty much call him a bumbling idiot and a bad captain lol.

Yeah, the original IS a pig, but I've never liked that formulation because there's no inherent danger in a pig (thus no spice to saying "it angers the pig"). But I doubt I'll be able to reverse, or at least correct, a cliché.
