Ok cool, now try giving them some comparable talent rather than a pile of crap. Mete and the 2nd is the only value in there.

i dont see how mete is a pile of crap. he's a legit top 4 d. dnaualt is a decent 3rd line center. its a quantity trade tbh. why pay so much for a winger?

As gofnut said, Mete and 2nd are only valuable pieces.. Rielly is 3/4LD on Leafs, Danault 4C, Scherbak on Marlies 3rd line..

the trade makes no sense for mtl either. we need our youth. mete is a legit player. we have a good drafting record too. dont trade that 2nd rd pick. scherbak is only 22, give him some time. we need danault too lmao. we dont have that many centers.

If I might try and give it a go (just for fun):
In order to get Nylander you are going to have to overpay to pull him out, there are two possible trades, the 1st one being the more likely, the 2nd being the leafs want futures for some reason.

Danault is of no use to a team that has a 30 goal scorer as 3rd center already. Reilly and Scherbak are nothing more than roster fillers. That leaves Mete and the 2nd. As i said above the only value in the deal. Mete’s size or lack of it limits his potential as d man particularly in his own end. In other words there is NOTHING there that is worth a 22 year old FW coming off b2b 60 point seasons, still improving, under team control. It’s a garbage offer.

Makes no sense for each team.. Mete is great talent! I dont see Montreal dealing with Toronto on a trade this big.. maybe TDL deal of some sorts like Plekys deal.. and Scherbak is only 22 but plays like fragile 40yr old..

Lol, you have a good drafting record? The reason your team is in the shape is in is because they don’t. Until this last draft you had one of the least talented prospect pools in the league.

lets talk about drafting. our drafting record is actually top 5 in the league for the past 10 years or so. our development hasn't been good. i'll admit that. but if im not mistaken, subban was a 2nd rd pick. he was drafted by the habs. lehkonen is a 2nd rd pick. gally is a 5th rd pick. if u want more info read this article. it has past and present comparisons uptil the 2016 draft i believe.

He has proven that he can play centre.... He is no Matthews, hence why he is a winger on the Leafs, but he can play 1c relatively well. If the Leafs had drafted Laine 1st ovr, their lineup could look like this (last year without JT)
Hyman - Nylander - Laine
Marleau - Kadri - Marner
JVR - Bozak - Leo
Leivo - Goat - Martin

You need to reevaluate your definition of the term asset. He can play center, prob better suited for RW. Sorry, didn’t realize your team was so stacked it couldn’t use a top line winger. ?

i bet u didn't know this cause u seem as if u really dont do ur research. last season after bozak left the leafs as a FA, the leafs managements biggest concern was finding a center to play on the 2nd line. they didn't believe that nylander was capable of running a line of his own at center and be responsible defensively. if u don't believe me, listen to last weeks 31 thoughts pod cast. it should be on the sportnet website. now im not saying that nylander cant play center. but i dont believe he can hold his own end at center. playing center requires a lot of responsibility. a guy like draisaitl can play center. but he likes to play on mcdavids wing so he plays their. i

of course any team would want a young player like him. but he's not worth what ur sending back. 2-3 years down the road im willing to bet any money that drouin will be better then nylander. and suzuki is legit. guys gonna be a c top 6 center in the nhl. not worth trading that much for nylander. u guys are highly overvaluing him. ur making him seem like he;s an 8 mill dollar player, but all the leafs fans are saying he's worth 6 and he aint better then pastarnak. make up ur mind

Oh I know about the leafs situation, It is preferred that he not play centre, not that he cannot. He can and has played 1C when Matthews was out, and was good, not great, not bad, good, hence why he is on the wing. Also, Matthews - Nylander pairing wont be broken up, which is why they wanted another centre. You are attributing the wrong things (that are largely unrelated to this discussion) to prove your own point. This is called confirmation bias.

lol man. i studied all about bias. im a management student lmao. like i said before, im not saying he can't play center, but he can't be a good one. he might score. sure. thats great. but a center also has a lot of defensive responsibility. and for the packages ur talking about, hell no he aint worth that much.

no. im extremely confident drouin can be better then nylander. of course drouin isnt playing with matthews, so his points arent that over inflated. suzuki projects to be a 2nd line center or a top 6 winger.
