He's not. I don't know why everyone thinks that top line is going to be Drouin, Domi, Armia. That's just stupid. The top line is going to be Tatar, Danault, Gallagher.

Thats even worse grin Im hopeful that Domi plays winger and first line is Tatar-Drouin-Gallagher and second Domi-Danault-Lehkonen..

There is a very simple reason why these contracts would not work, you gave away almost 50% of you cap space to 4 forwards.

Ok . thats all well and good that you got all three signed . but the problem is that you're missing a whole line of players and you are at the Cap . Theres no way you can sign all three without getting rid of some cap somewhere else . As much as i liked the signing, this is where the third year in the Marleau deal comes back to bite the leafs imo. My assumption would be Jake Gardiner to either be traded or become FA. Also, i feel like 9mil is alot of Marner? Thats almost Kucherov money and Marner is not as good as Kucherov.

Did you read that before hitting submit? Our number 1 line isn't going to be those 3 depth players you idiot, they are going to be these 3 equally unimpressive players.

Toronto fans are in denial right now.
Nylander played hard ball on his rookie deal. He played really well, and felt he was under paid for it. Now he wants his cash. It wasn't hard to see this coming.
He isn't out there for some "love of the game" bs, he wants paid.
He's not signing a low contract. Which means the leafs are gonna have to pay him or trade him.
Word is he wants a short deal, probably because he knows whats coming with the next CBA, and they are far apart on numbers.

Good luck with that Toronto.

Sorry to say but I don’t think anything other than hardballing on both deals is correct. Nylander wants a long term deal and does want to stay with the leafs. Dubas has already publicalky states that nylander will be a leaf as long as he is the gm. I think where there is a gap is the value on a long term deal. Dubas is probably pushing for 6m while nylander’s agent is probably around 7m hopefully they can work something out between those two figures otherwise it will be a bridge deal. I do t think either side wants it but if they can’t agree on long term that’s what it will have to be.
