Seen some Josi to Toronto proposals... thought i'd give it a whirl.


what this would do is give Toronto a top pairing D for 2 years at a very cost controlled rate. It would allow them Cap wise to hold onto their young core (Matthews, Marner, Nylander). Josi's extension comes up the year that Horton and Marleau both come off the books.

What this would do for Nashville is get a competent dman back and behind the shelter of Subban/Ekholm and Gardiner/Ellis pairing would still be pretty dang good. We sign Gardiner to an extension somewhere in the ballpark of what Ellis got. Gets Nashville a great LHD prospect who along with Fabbro/Carrick would become the future of our d group. If an expansion draft comes along, Sandin or Fabbro/Carrick step in to take over the role of whoever gets lost/traded away. Carrick steps into the role of 3rd pairing RHD for this season beside Hamhuis. A first round draft pick (if needed) is just that. If another prospect is preferred maybe Semyon Der-Arguchintsev + a later round pick instead.

It's funny I see this guy tagged into so many posts as if people see him as superior to others. But if you check out his own ACGM teams/trades they are laughable also. Like when he thought Washington would take Allen I'm a trade for Holtby. That's something you should have to explain to a 8 years old why the trade is not logical

If they trade Holtby to make room for Samsonov, they will need a goalie back. That deal is not as far fetched as you think it is.

No they won't he's a top 5 goalie in the league they will dictate the market. It's ridiculous to not think so.

So, they're going to trade Holtby and not ask for a goalie back, leaving Samsonov with no safety net? Come on. They can dictate the market, but they are absolutely taking a goalie back.

Not one with salary. They are trying to shed money in the deal or why the hell even make it?
