The Hawks have more offensive defensemen prospects than those defense oriented, so I doubt they'd want to give up TVR for even a former 1st round pick (especially one that can't earn a roster spot over the likes of Lovejoy and Cole). And Teravainen is worth more than Beau Bennett + a 3rd round pick for a year away - BB will both cost more sooner, isn't as good, and is more injury prone. No one is likely going to want BB with his injury history lbr.

Also jfyi, Teravainen does not play the left side well - they've tried to have him play on that side for two seasons now to no avail.

I think this is an Awesome trade. Chicago is very thin on blue line prospects and pouliot would immediately play top 4 minutes for that team. Pens are short on forward prospects so this makes a lot of sense

Chicago is not trading Teravainen for that offer and BB has little value.

Depends what you mean by very thin on blue line prospects. True they don't have rookies like Gostisbehere or Parayko, but no one mentioned in the trade is at that level. (No Pouliot isn't) The difference between TVR last year and this year is HUGE. sometimes you just have to let the kids grow up. Nick Leddy was a continual healthy scratch in important games. He's doing pretty good now.

Chicago is actually fine in term of d-prospects, it's just that they skew to be more offense oriented. Pouliot doesn't have the defensive side down to the level that Q likes, so they definitely wouldn't give up TVR for that. They might to a straight swap of Pouliot for Teravainen, but there would likely have to be something thrown in on PIT's side since TT has more/better experience. BB is worthless, let's be real.
