Josi is better than Panarin. Murray is not worth Smith + 1st. This trade favors CBJ so much.

Actually, when Panarin skates for you, you will see he is even better than Forsberg.
And I like Forsberg, who carried me to my yahoo league title in 2015 (as well as Patrick Kane). I think Panarin is even better than Kane too.

Smith is overrated, and Josi is most definitely not better than Panarin and he certainly isn’t more valuable to a team with 3 other elite defensemen

Panarin is up there with any forward in the league and I’ve been saying it since the Saad Trade. Sucks he’s leaving but this is fair and good for both sides IMO. Preds get a Tier 1 Forward and CBJ gets a solid middle 6 winger and a Very good defenseman to keep building around.

As long as an extension for Panarin is in place I’d be willing to make the deal from the Preds perspective. Hard to give up Josi but Panarin would be a fantastic addition.

Panarin has no desire to play in the middle of nowhere

The deal does require some tinkering, but I must admit that a deal around Panarin for Josi is incredibly exciting on so many levels. Forsberg, Panarin, Johansen, Tolvanen and Arvidsson is a fantastic young group of forwards that would easily make the team a contender for many years to come. If Fabbro does emerge as a top 4 d-man, this trade might look even better. And do I need to spell out that top 3 on defense for CBJ? Jones, Werenski and Josi. That must be the best top 3 in the league. The only deal breaker here is Panarin. Would he resign in NSH?
