I see where you are coming from but Pens say no. Dumoulin is a stud and a bonafide top 2 Dman at worst top 4. Lovejoy is a 6/7 and the Hagelin for Johansson is not that far off in itself. Johansson is more valuable but does not make up for the difference in value between Dumo and Lovejoy.

Hagelin and dumoulin combined costs around 1 million more than these other two combined. Dumoulin is younger and hagelin is better and his contract can be renwed at the end of the season for a btter price for those of you thinking hes a cap dump. Johanssons the worst contract here at over 5 million. A couple late pick isnt going to sway this in NJD favour.

Alright, you think adding picks and, or, prospects would get Dumoulin; or are the Penguins not even open to trading him at all?

I don't think Hagelin is bad, but I think Johansson is worth more too. Hagelin is better defensively but Johansson is much better offensively and would add more scoring to the team.

Pens cant do that deal.... Our best defensive D-man and our best defensive forward

hagelin isn't a cap dump, he is actually an asset to the penguins, adding him plus possibly their best defenseman who is young and still at a reasonable contract. Not even close to a fair deal.

well he is a top defenseman, which is the weakest part of the penguins team, so a team would not only have to give fair value but overpay for him.

I think he is mostly untouchable. The Devils would have to blow Jim Rutherford off his feet to trade him. Probably not in the Devils best interest to try and trade prospects. I think you'd have a better option in Maatta even though I am a fan of him as well.

Dumo is untouchable unless you way overpay for him. The pens wouldn’t want to take on mojos cap hit with his injury history from last year alone. Maybe Hagelin for lovejoy and a late pick. That’s honestly the only thing that’d make sense.
