I would do it at this point. there's no super standout prospect coming back to MTL, but I doubt ANA would move guys like Jones or Steel.

As Ducks I would not trade comtois and Morand they are both 2th round pick that will be better than suppose. Comtois, 1 year before us draft was classed in the top 10
But at his draft year he had not a really good season.
COMtois is the perfect kind of player for the duck physical big and gritty
Morand is a true leader and a good future 3rd line center

You have to give if you want to receive a player like Pacioretty. One of Jones, Steel or Comtois is going back to MTL in a deal involving 67

Goid trade, But you can’t sign Montour, Ritchie, Kase now. Need to dump some salary somewhere. Unless Kesler ends up on LTIR.

u have to give up assets for a team to take a bad contract. look what cbj and florida gave up to vegas to clear cap space.

Yes, but that doesn’t mean the offer makes any rational sense for a hockey organization to employ. 1 year of Kesler’s contract on LTIR and then getting Kesler back afterwards (granted for more $ than he may be worth in a few years) is WAY better than losing Sam Steel and Kesler for 1 year of cap cleanup when the Ducks don’t even need the cap space during that year! It’s the kind of trade you’d only see coming from a fan of the other team benefitting ridiculously in the deal.

No need to take it out on the guy’s post with a 1 star review when that’s totally equal value for Pac

Also, remember, CBJ didn’t give up what they did simply so Vegas would clear cap space. They gave them the picks and Karlsson so they’d clear cap space AND not take certain players off of their roster they didn’t want to lose. Florida was totally different. They just straight up moved Smith for a pick. And with that in mind, look at how well those trades worked out for neither of those two teams. Not the greatest of footsteps to follow
