Oh you didn't know. Apparently Vegas ,Tampa Bay, Dallas, and Ottawa are the only ones that can profit from EK65. Devils are just a bank to make the money work for them and they get garbage in return.

Ryan is still a serviceable player and has a retained salary, will serve as a top 6-9 forward and the devils are getting another bottom 6 player and a 3rd.

Then why would they still give Vegas a 3rd and a 6th and John Q?

Because Ryan is still a top 6 player... you can use him and he has retained salary. Plus Vgk is offering extra too.

I know i forgot Shea, I mainly wanted to highlight the trade itself rather than the signings. If I signed Shea was to be signed i'd have to trade more. Thank you for your comment!
