Description
Ok so I think they might very well be the favorite going in (or very close to CAN!) Remember that this team will be comprise of 24 years old or older American players.

Let's see what the team might look like!

F: It was down to Pacioretty/JVR/Neal for my last forward. Took Pacioretty 'cause he has the highest upside of the 3, has history with Team USA and will more than likely bounce back this season from 1 bad season after 5 excellent ones.
D: It was down to Leddy/Krug/Shattenkirk for my 8th & last D...decided to go with the best of the 3 all around (and smoothest skater) in Leddy.
G: It was down to Quick & Bishop for my 3rd goalie... Quick without so much of an afterthought.

Couturier has dual citizenship but was born in the US.

Dammit for Johansen, I thought I edited him out when I did my final check...

Werenski will be in Team North America.

Couturier has played for Canada many times not sure if you can flip countries like that

I think when a player has dual citizenship, he can play for the other country (USA) if CAN doesn't take him on the team. Not to sure though...

Team North America and Team Europe are being replaced by 2 countries TBD by a tournament.

Does Murray have dual?

Thought so. Maybe Thatcher Demko by then.


As to the other question. I would think Switzerland, Slovakia, Germany would be the favorites.

There is also talk of having North America v Europe best 5 or 7 series every 4 years as well. They were looking at 2018 but i don't see it happening yet. With WC slotted for 2020 the other series would likely start in 2022 and be played every 4 years as well.

Swiss aren’t that bad really. But i would not mind 6 team field. No divisions. Everyone playes each other. 2nd and 3rd place play for the right to face 1st place in a best of 3. With more games in prelims less likely to have soenthing flukey like Team Europe happen.

Unless they changed the rules,
it does NOT work like that

Used to be:
Once u played internationally for a Country, that’s the only one you could play for- not allowed to switch

I think this had something to do with when Brett Hull decided to play for the US after he was cut by Team Canada, but I’m not positive about that

Rules may have changed, I’m not positive
But that’s the way it used to be
