Liljegren is likely a half year away from NHL time and a year away from being a regular. Tanev is just not worth it for any kind of sizeable return. I'd rather give up more and get more.

Definitely not even close to Tanev value. Liljegren COULD be better than tanev but D prospects are very unpredictable.

I think what adds to tanevs value now from a canucks standpoint is the fact they need him to partner with Juolevi or Hughes. He's so good defensively that it will be a nice cushion if they make a mistake.

They aren't "nothing" players. They still have age on their side and the only reason they don't get ice time is because they're lower on the pecking order in TO. They'd be good pieces for the Canucks

It's a lot closer than you may think. Borgman is only 23, Rosen is only 24. Those are two solid pieces and Vancouver could use them on the back end. Throw in a 2nd and a 3rd, it may not be enough to get him but it's certainly not far off

Until we see a Tanev trade to any team besides the Leafs, it's really too make an objective judgement. Pretty sure the Leafs wouldn't trade their # 1 prospect for Tanev.....would any team?
Sure Faulk plays right but the isn't that special, that a lot to give up for a two year rental also.
