I think there is a different as to what Kucherov is worth in comparison to what he actually has agreed to. Personally, I thought there was no possible way the Lightning would get him signed for anything less than $11 million, but I guess life surprises you sometimes, and clearly he is happy in Tampa with the core that's established there. There's no doubt in my mind that he left money on the table, especially had he gone to free agency next offseason, to keep the dollar value of his deal more reasonable so that Tampa can continue to compete. Ultimately, this was another win for Steve Yzerman and the city of Tampa Bay, but Kucherov is definitely worth more than what he signed for.

dude there is no state tax in fla calm down.......he also signed for 9.5 million thats easily 10.5-11 anywhere else so that statement is still pretty true..... I mean Im happy Tampa has him long term and its very reasonable price but no need to brag when you get what 1m-1.5m more of your salary by playing in tampa

It seemed like every time someone posted a projection for the Kucherov contract, someone would comment how there was no way Kuch would sign with Tampa for under 10, sometime under 11 million.

His value is 11m. Up to 12m in desperate market. 9.5m in FLA, with contender and hometown discount. Great deal. Panarins value is 10m. Up to 11 in desperate market. 9m is desired location (big 3 us cities, in his case). Not sure what people don't understand?!?!
