I don't think it makes sense for Buffalo, but I don't think the value is that far off. there are 6 players in my mind that you can justify trading Dahlin for. in no particular order, Connor Mcdavid, Erik Karlsson, Nikita Kucherov, Charlie McAvoy, Seth Jones and Auston Matthews.

It's not good for Buffalo. Karlsson of course cool, he has only one year contract, and he cannot help us out in the playoffs, I would predpochel to build a team for the future together with Dahlin and all the rest of the young core.

Buffalo isn't close to winning with their current lineup and are still in rebuilding mode, trading a projected franchise player for a franchise player who is 9 or 10 years older would get you fired. That said, I think Karlsson would look good paired with Dahlin. A deal can be made to get Karlsson for Risto or ROR included with picks/prospects, but I would have to think in order to maximize Karlsson's value he would have to be extended and then traded or an extension agreed upon with his new team before being traded.

Nope, so much nope. Buffalo gets violated and goes to the police with this deal. Why would we move down and trade ROR for 1 year of Karlsson and a lesser prospect?

Obviously I mean as part of the trade. there would need to be a lot more than just McAvoy. but McAvoy is one of the best young Dmen in the league right now. He's only 20 and he's playing top pair minutes. 30+ points and great possession numbers. He probably never going to be what Dahlin is projected to be, but he's still going to grow into a player who consistently challenges for the Norris.

If there was a draft right now, of every player in the NHL and every player in the draft, Dahlin would go top 5, if not top 2
