I would make this deal if I'm Ottawa. Karlsson is all but gone, I would be shocked and pleasantly surprised if he resigned with Ottawa.

Hmmm.. looking to hate something on this.... but really can't.. not even gonna nit-pick.. CAR gets a new young goalie a 3/4 center, a prospect, OTT gets a 1/2 center and Karlsson's cheaper replacement. Getting Dahlin means that top pair in Karlsson/Dahlin is insane in a year or two as Dahlin grows.. You defiantly helped out the void at LW even if Ryan is mostly just a cap dump for OTT. I'm usually really down on Karlsson coming to the sabres but the way you put this together all i can say is Bravo!

EDIT: wait wait wait i found something lmao.. buyout Bogo instead of Moulson.. more cap savings a few more little moves maybe you can get an extra Defensive piece to take his place.. or keep McCabe and sign Hutton instead of Grubauer and save an extra 1-1.5million

Look at next year, Karlson gets 4.5m raise, Skinnder a 1.25m raise. Where is all the cap space coming from (I know Pommeville is gone) but still getting really top heavy with salaries. And you really want Ryan for four years?

Skinner has been on my radar forever, I normally think of sending O'Reilly or Ristolainen for him, I do not see that value among your offering. Skinner is an elite LW, he has 89 goals over the past 3 years. Lehner is worth about a 2nd, the 2018 2nd is good Baptiste, Girgensons and a 3rd, do not add up to Skinner
I would love to have Karlsson, IMO taking on B Ryan's contract is worth about a 1st and maybe a 2nd (see David Clarkson), then another 1st is added in 2019, then O'Reilly AND Ristolainen. WAY too much for Karlsson
I guess you just want to dump a couple of contracts so that is fine.
Grubauer is a good GK, personally I would not trade McCabe and a 2nd
Finally, you obviously used the buyout calculator to buy out Moulson, yes you save $300,000 this year but then the cap is hit with $666,667 next year. I know there is a conversation about buying him out, but that is ignorant talk, who ever started that, does not know it will cost more to buy him out than to keep him in the AHL.

I think the Skinner trade works out great..
- They get a new younger starting goalie who was very good last year considering the team in front of him
- They get a 3/4 Center
- They get a Mid to High range prospect
- 2nd Rounder is 32nd overall 1st pick in the 2nd Round
- 3rd Rounder is 2019 so that works out for the Sabres' draft this year

All in all that's quite a haul
