I think you can save a lot of those issues by just trading Myers, and sliding Niku and Poolman into the lineup.
Poolman was an above average in every advanced metric you can measure a players' performance by, and looked good in the games he played with the Jets.
Niku led the AHL in points by a defenseman as a rookie and looked Karlsson-ish. At the very least he's earned a shot with the big club.
As it is, I love Myers but he's making more than any 3rd pairing Dman in the league and unlike Edmonton's 3rd pairing, is tradable and would be top 4 on any other team. Also you really want to shed another 3mill in cap. Chevy isn't gonna want to have 2019's bonuses carry over to next year's cap when he's trying to sign 81, 29, and 26.
