Description
2018 Draft -
1: Rasmus Dahlin LHD

D has talent but is a question mark, Dahlin makes it instantly better. The bottom 6 will be like a rubix cube, but has enough talent to be productive.

If this comes across GMPC desk please do it. Buy out Reggie and Russell if you have to then bring in Vanek for Leons left wing. Our blueline would be set for the future then all we have to do is find the right mix of forwards

Lol Don’t draft Woo at 10th, he’s ranked to go 20+, A hard hitting defensive Dman, who’s raw and is rough around the edges with his offensive game. Koktaniemi and Veleno will likely be the best Centers avaliable over Hayton. I think Smith is a nice option at 10th, a LHD that can the right side, small, but does a little of everything, a jack of all trades if you will. A Minute muncher, as well as one of the best defensive skaters as well, good IQ and good shot, think Duncan Keith.

I don’t think we should buy out Russell, when he’s not doing too much he’s a serviceable defenseman and shotblocker, he’s overpaid, but not wildly overpaid, would not be a good idea to buy him out.

No I agree with you. But I think that this is a good enough deal for Edmonton that we should definitely do it. Would rather buy out Sekera then Russell

For sure, would buyout Reggie over Russell, I think Russell is the kinda of humble guy that wouldn’t mind playing 3rd pair and 1st pairing PK, while Sekera might get over shun by Risto, Klef and Nurse on the PP, ultimately putting him on the PK, where he may not excel there, like Russell would, Russell is also versatile enough to play 2nd pairing if someone gets injured.

Woo dropped because he got hurt. I think he's a sleeper and the Sabres, in this build, have the next pick. Woo has great athleticism and would have time to develop with Buffalo. He's physical and underrated on the offensive end, pretty smart as well. A reach, but I dont think he makes it to round 2. Sabres dont/wont need LHD (McCabe, Guhle, Pilot, Scandella/Leddy, Budik if they sign him), and will have C locked down for a long time. I like Kotkaniemi. I'm not a big fan of Velano, another one where injuries derailed him, but didnt really bounce back. It was between Hayton and Kotkaniemi for me, Kotkaneimi may be gone by 10/11.

I feel as though Veleno had a bounce back semester after being traded to one of the better QMJHL teams, I think he’s a #2 center potential wise, and a #1 if he has elite wingers around him, but that’s his absolute ceiling. I feel like a lot of teams, including Buffalo will sleep on Woo early, until.. 18ish. If you’re going for RHD, the best available is Bode Wilde, at 10, he’s a bit of a stretch, but at 10, Woo is a giant stretch if picked there. I think There’s a 50/50 chance Koktaniemi is at 11, where then you guys could pick him if there, plays Center and wing, think poor mans Barkov?

Farabee would be interesting too if there, I have Wilde and Woo on the same page. I dont think he has much more on Woo, other than he stayed healthy, and he's committed to college, which as a Sabres fan over that last couple years, bothers me a little (till they fix that loop hole)

Don't think you buyout either. Sekera looked a lot better at WC, could easily bounce back and get a good return next year or at TDL, a Sekera +Russell 3rd pairing if you have to with Benning as the 7th. Once M-NTC kick in you have more options that don't screw you over longterm. Only issue is you need to find cheap wingers for Draisaitl or hope Pulju or Yams is ready for bigtime

shibbal18 I honestly sit at my computer in awe of the teams you come up with..... this team is so so so sweet. In relation to the D situation would you be better off with Scandella on the team and insert McCabe into the NYI deal?

Fantastic job...... wow!!!!

Thank you haha. I think McCabe takes a step over Scandella this year. I may be the only one who thinks that (but thats the way I like it). I think if McCabe was healthy last year he would have over taken Scandella. They should have just shut him down, but i guess they thought they could turn it around (up until January, they shut him down in February). That kinda heart alone is something I want in the locker room. He is a talented stay at home, with speed to keep up with the game.

Five stars my friend
I stole the same trade and the trade of O'Reilly to the Kings, then flipped the players for picks.

I think Pulju is but I think Yamamoto needs a season in the minors

Which I agree with Pulju needs to to be given a real chance with Draisaitl and PP1 in Ovi spot unless they find a better shot from somewhere. Not saying his shot is Laine or Ovi level but its better then Letestu. Maybe Yam will surprise but I too think he will need a time in AHL before coming up
